The new generic Top Level Domains (gTLDs) caught Royal Family attention. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, and Prince Harry already have their own dedicated sites.
Dozens of new generic Top Level Domain (gTLD) names have been bought up by Buckingham Palace, to protect and preserve the Royal Family online identities and the domain names bought, are thought to have cost between £5 and £30 each. One of the main reasons why the domain names for the Royal Family have been bought is to prevent them falling victim to cyber-squatters.
